SERENGETI

The Serengeti National Park is a Tanzanian national park in the Serengeti ecosystem in the Mara and Simiyu regions. It is famous for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded (or brindled) wildebeest and 250,000 zebra and for its numerous Nile crocodile and honey badger. NGORONGORO

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. Black Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Blue Wildebeest, Grant's Zebra, Eland, Grant's and Thomson's gazelles, Waterbucks. Absent are giraffe, impala, topi, oribi, crocodile. LAKE MANYARA

Lake Manyara National Park is situated between Lake Manyara & the Great Rift Valley. Known for flocks of thousands of flamingos that feed along the edge of the lake in the wet season. The park is a well-known breeding site for thousands of Pink-backed pelican and yellow-billed stork. Wildebeest, Zebra, Thomson's Gazelle, and Grant's Gazelle, Impala, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Baboon, Warthog, and African Bush Elephant, Lion, Leopard, African wild cat, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox etc. Cheetah and African golden cat are sighted occasionally. TARANGIRE

The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. During the dry season, thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas. The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Visitors to the park in June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik-dik, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, Lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog. SELOUS

The Selous Game Reserve is a protected area in southern Tanzania. It covers a total area of 50,000 km2 (19,000 sq mi) and has additional buffer zones. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and undisturbed nature. Some of the typical wildlife of the miombo inhabits the reserve, such as African bush elephant, black rhino, hippopotamus, lion, East African wild dog, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffe, Plains zebra, and Nile crocodile. The Mikumi National Park near Morogoro, Tanzania, was established in 1964. It covers an area of 3,230 km² is the fourth largest in the country. RUAHA

SAFARI OPEN JEEP with FLIGHT COMBO

With an open-sided 4x4 your photographic opportunities are widened and you feel much closer to the animals and the smells. It also tends to be much cooler as many closed-sided vehicles don't have air-conditioning. But this option is available only if you fly to the resorts from Nairobi rather than going via road (hence tends to be very expensiove). CHEMKA HOT SPRINGS

Leave early morning for the hour-long drive to the Chemka Hot Springs. The road is very bumpy and windy, but the scenery the wonderful and authentic Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the road. Take a leisurely swim or float around (the waters are very warm). The water is so clear that you can see right to the bottom. There is also a rope swing. Also plenty of time to spot the wildlife that also enjoy the Chemka Hot Springs. Duration: Whole Day to ½ day Approx 2 hours from Arusha

MT. KILIMANJARO TREK

Mt Kilimanjaro is the tallest peak and one of the world-famous destinations. It is a climb of medium difficulty but should have a prior mountain trek experience.
